Egg Bites Recipe Ingredients

Eggs : Either white or brown eggs work. You can also use egg whites if you prefer. For plant based options, use Just Eggs.
Veggies: Colored bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, spinach or zucchini works well. Chop them small. Adds in fiber to the nutrients mix.
Cheese : Cottage cheese makes them velvety creamy while adding extra boost of protein and calcium. Italian or other cheese blend adds nice flavors.
Milk : Either regular or plant based milk like Almond milk works. When blended with eggs, it makes these bites fluffy and airy.
Seasoning: All Purpose seasoning, everything but bagel or other flavoring of your choice. Use garlic powder, black pepper and salt if you want to keep things simple.
Variations and Substitutions
You can add cooked meats like bacon bites, chopped ham, chopped breakfast sausage links, or shredded chicken, beef, or pork.
Besides regular eggs, you can use egg whites, or even store-bought liquid eggs in a carton.
To add International/flavor twists: use jalapeño & pepper jack, pesto & parmesan, sun‑dried tomato & spinach. For smoky flavor, add cooked bacon and cheddar—mimicking the Starbucks Bacon & Gruyere version
How To Make Air Fryer Egg Bites

In a mixer or blender, add eggs, cottage cheese, seasoning and milk. Blend till eggs are well incorporated.
Pour the mixture into the mixing bowl. Add shredded cheese and half of the veggies. Mix well. Gently whisk to combine.
Spray the silicone molds with oil. Pour the egg mixture into each of the silicone molds. Only fill ¾ of the mold since eggs will expand on cooking.
Sprinkle in the remaining half of all of the veggies on top.
Cook the egg bite cups for 12-15 minutes at 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Insert a toothpick in the center. When the toothpick comes out clean, the eggs have set.
How to Make Instant Pot Egg Bites
Pour 1.5 cups of cold water into the inner pot of the pressure cooker and place a trivet inside the inner pot.
Make the egg batter as described above. Add it into the egg molds, dividing the mixture evenly. Only fill ¾ of each mold. Cover the silicone mold tightly with foil and place it on the trivet.
Close the lid. Vent in Sealing position. Choose cook time for 9 minutes on high pressure.
Once cooking time has elapsed, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes.
Remove the egg bite mold from the inner pot and let rest for 2-5 minutes. Remove the foil. Then flip the mold upside down onto a plate. Egg bites should just slide off.

Storage, Make-Ahead & Reheating Tips
Refrigerate : Keep egg bites in a sealed zip-lock bag or a container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Freeze : You can also freeze them up to 3 months. Wrap them individually in plastic wrap for easy portions.
Reheat : Microwave 30–60 sec (fridge) or 60–90 sec (frozen), or reheat in air‑fryer/oven for crisp edges. You can also reheat in a preheated air fryer for about 4 minutes. Another option is to let them thaw on the kitchen counter for couple hours and eat cold.

💡Pro Tips
- To avoid spillage, I recommend you place the silicone molds in the air fryer before pouring in the egg mixture. This way you don’t have to move the filled cups.
- Whisk the eggs until the yolks are separated. You should see no bits of white or yolk.
- Use cooked veggies or quickly make them in the microwave for a minute before adding to the egg mixture. Raw veggies don't cook properly in egg mixture.
- This recipe works best at 300 degrees Fahrenheit. We have tested it on several different temperatures but anything higher than 300 degrees caused the eggs to brown much too quickly on top.
- Don’t add too many mix-ins or the egg bites won’t hold together.
- We use silicone mold for egg bites that are perfect for both InstantPot and Air fryer. You can use a small muffin pan or even small ramekins that fit.
- Cooking time might vary slightly depending upon the size of mold and brand of the air-fryer.
- Do not use the plastic cover that comes with the silicone molds in the air-fryer.
- Only fill ¾ of the egg mold with ingredients. Eggs will expand and rise upon cooking. So leave some space on top.

What’s the best way to reheat these?
Prajakta Sukhatme
Wrap them in moist paper towel and reheat in microwave one minute in 30 second interval.
Kalpana
Thank you for the recipe. 2 questions:
1. How long can I keep them in the fridge?
2. Can these be frozen?
Thanks
Prajakta Sukhatme
You can keep them in fridge for 5 days. Use air tight container. Yes you can freeze these too. Let them cool completely and store in air tight freezer safe container up-to 3 months. If you freeze them in smaller portions, it's easier to defrost as needed.
Sue
How do you make this in an air fryer? Do you use air fry settings? Temperature settings? Never thought making this air fryer.
Prajakta Sukhatme
Yes. You can make it on air fryer setting. Use silicon mold or ramekin bowls. Cook the egg bite cups for 12-15 minutes at 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
Sharon
The recipe calls for 1/2 tsp. seasoning. What kind of seasoning?
Prajakta Sukhatme
You can use Italian Seasoning, all purpose seasoning or even 'Everything but bagel' seasoning.

Finally made these and I am wondering why I didn’t do it sooner! I used Colby Jack cheese instead of mozzarella and added a small amount of Jimmy Dean’s sausage and bacon crumbles. SOOO yummy!!!
Tamera
I do not have an air fryer or instant pot. I do have a Cuisinart pressure cooker though. Do you think that might work?
Team ProfusionCurry
Sorry. We haven't used Cuisinart pressure cooker to make these. So can't really provide proper cooking timings and instructions.
Karen
Can you use the plastic cover in the instant pot?
Team ProfusionCurry
Yes you can
Janet
I can’t have spinach due to kidney stones. Would it affect it to just leave spinach out? Would I need another ingredient instead? Looks delicious.
Team ProfusionCurry
You can leave out spinach. If you like to add another filler ingredient like more cooked veggies or meat , add 1/4 cup. But if don't it will not affect the outcome. Enjoy making it.
