Red White and Blue Rice Krispie Treats are fun and festive treat with patriotic flair ! They are perfect for holiday parties on Fourth of July, Memorial Day, or Labor Day. These red white blue rice krispie bars are deliciously gooey, crispy and super easy to make.

Red, white and blue rice krispies treat bars served for flag theme party.

With just a few simple ingredients and a bit of food coloring, you can create a no-bake dessert that's sure to be a crowd pleaser.

It also is a great way to get kids involved in the kitchen! So, grab your marshmallows and cereal, and let's make some tasty, colorful treats that everyone will love!

Similar to Red White and Blue Chocolate Bark, Cheesecake Phyllo Cups, Cottage Cheese with Fruit Parfait's and Frozen Yogurt bark, this is our family favorite flag color recipe for seasonal and holiday celebration.

    Ingredients

Simple and easily available ingredients used in making patriotic rice krispie treats.

Rice Krispies Cereal: The crunchy foundation of our treats, providing that classic snap, crackle, and pop that we all love. Kellogg's are the best.

Marshmallows: These create the gooey, sticky sweetness that holds the treats together, making every bite deliciously chewy.

Butter: Adds a rich, creamy flavor and helps the marshmallows melt smoothly, ensuring the perfect texture.

Candy Melts : Use flag colors. Red and blue colors turn a classic treat into a festive, patriotic delight, perfect for celebrating any red, white, and blue occasion. I used a Wilton red, blue and white melting wafers.

Vanilla Extract (optional): A splash of vanilla adds a subtle depth of flavor, making these treats even more irresistible.

How to Make Patriotic Rice Krispie Treats

Process step in making homemade rice crispy treats with flag colors.

    Preparing Homemade Rice Krispies Treats

    • Melt the butter in a large pot over low heat. Add the mini marshmallows, stirring until completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
    • Remove the pot from heat and immediately mix in the Rice Krispies cereal until well coated.
    • Press the mixture firmly into a 9x13 inch baking pan lined with parchment paper or lightly greased. Flatten it evenly across the pan.
    • Let the Rice Krispie treat cool and set in the refrigerator for at least one hour.
    • Once set, lift the whole treat out of the pan using the edges of the parchment paper. Place it on a cutting board and cut into squares or rectangles to your preferred size.

    Preparing the Flag Color Decorations

    • Separately melt the red, white, and blue meltable candies according to the package instructions. Use bowls deep enough for easy dipping.

Decorate the red white blue rice krispies

    • Drizzle the melted colored candies over the homemade rice crispy bars. Alternatively, dip each Rice Krispie square into the melted candy, covering it to your liking. Let any excess drip off.
    • Place the dipped bars onto a sheet of parchment paper. While the candy coating is still wet, sprinkle with your chosen sprinkles for a decorative touch.

    Cooling and serving

    • Allow the rice crispy treats with m&ms to set completely at room temperature, or in the refrigerator for a faster setting. Serve and enjoy !
