This tapas-style Mediterranean Appetizer Platter is an easy antipasto party platter you can whip up in just a few minutes. When I am hosting a party, we serve a variety of appetizers like Italian Bruschetta, Stuffed Mushrooms, Baked Brie and this amazing mezze platter.

And these vegetarian Meditararian appetizers are semi-home made. It’s an assortment of all things good. This lovely board is full of gorgeous looking dips and spread and beautiful looking veggies. It is inviting, filling and scrumptious.
What is Mezze Platter?
Mezze or Meze means “sharing”. It’s all about sharing your good fortune with loved ones and spreading the joy around. Best memories often happen gathered around the table. A typical Meditararian Appetizer Platter includes assorted shareable dips, spreads, nuts, snacks and fresh vegetables. You can add cheese and meats if you like it.
I love to create this beautiful vegetarian spread as a perfect conversion starter when I host a gathering. May it be a casual lunch/ dinner meets and any other parties.
Since it’s semi home made, it can be put together in a zippy for impromptu elegant gatherings. Serve it for tea parties, book club meets, bridal showers, baby showers, Mother’s Day brunch or Valentine’s Day dinner.
As shown this platter is vegan/ dairy free. There is no cheese used. You can make it gluten-free if you use gluten free pita bread.

- Hummus I am including a recipe below to make homemade hummus.
- Harissa or Roasted Red peppers Walnut Dip
- Marinated Olives
- Marinated Artichokes
- Colorful veggies like carrots, radishes, and cucumbers
- Warm Pita Bread cut into triangles
Variations and Substitutions
You can substitute several other dips and spread to this appetizer platter. Greek Tzatziki Sauce and Vegan Olive Tapenade are great options. For more exotic fusion flavors, add Peach Chutney. I also often include Meditararian Quinoa Salad to make it filling.
Ingredients
Start with a beautiful, big serving platter. Arrange 4 small bowls on the platter. Fill them up with olives, artichokes, hummus and red pepper dip.
Fill in the spaces with pita bread triangles and vegetables. And voila!! You have a gorgeous and simply best appetizers to enjoy and serve.

Easy Party Starter
This Mezze Appetizer Platter is elegant, exotic and easy. If you want to , you can buy all the ingredients and put this platter together in jiffy. Filled with Mediterranean goodies, this platter is festive, filling and amazing.
Serve it with variety of different chips including pita chips, toasts and fresh vegetables and fruits.
How to Make Homemade Hummus
- In a blender, add garlic, drained garbanzo beans , lemon juice, tahini sauce, cilantro and de-seeded jalapeno pieces and salt . Blend to smooth by adding little water.
- When you see mixture starts to form a paste, change the blender to pulse. Slowly pour olive oil through the spout while you are on pulse setting of the blender. It adds extra fluffy and creamy texture.
- Change the setting to blend and continue till mixture is creamy and well mixed. Hummus is ready to serve. Adding olive oil while blending adds extra creaminess so you can almost skip the tahini sauce if its not easily available.

How to Cook Dry Chickpeas In Instant Pot
- You soak the dried chickpeas for few hours and then pressure cook them in InstantPot on BEAN setting.
- Use enough water to cover the beans entirely. Use BEAN setting and let it cook automatically. If you want to use MANUAL or PRESSURE COOK buttons, choose 12-15 minutes for soaked beans and 25-30 minutes for dry – washed beans.
- After they are cooked, let them cool down completely. Then freeze them in individual portion sizes.
- It’s essentially like using canned chickpeas whenever you need them but MUCH BETTER. Instant Pot cooks these dried beans to smooth and soft to utmost perfection !!
