The platter serves as an appetizer but can become light and quick meal too. As shown this platter is vegan/ dairy free since there is no cheese used. You can also make it gluten-free by using gluten free pita bread.

Since it’s semi home made, it can be put together in a zippy for impromptu gatherings too.

My most favorite way to use it on Valentine’s day. I like to pair it with colorful tangy Pomegranate Martinis. The whole setup looks so romantic and elegant. Create a perfect intimate setting with light music in the background. You will Fall In Love all over again !!

How to Make Healthy Mezze Appetizer Platter
Start with a beautiful, big serving platter. Arrange 4 small bowls on the platter. Fill them up with olives, artichokes,  hummus and red pepper dip. Fill in the spaces with pita bread triangles and vegetables. And voila!! You have a gorgeous and simply best appetizer platter to enjoy and serve !!

If you notice, in most parties,  typically cheese/ meat and veggie boards get overlooked in the corner. They get boring fast. Instead try Mezze platter. It’s unique and filling. The goal is to create a beautiful platter with variety of textures and flavors. I often keep 2 home made dips ( Hummus and Red Pepper Walnut Chutney ) All other ingredients are sourced from outside. Complete it with colorful, crunchy veggies and you have delicious and healthy platter to relish.

If you have the time, you can make delicious and super easy creamy cilantro jalapeño hummus ahead of time. For the last minutes preparation any quality store-bought hummus will do too.

I also love to create super delicious Roasted Red Pepper and Walnut dip / chutney . You can make a big batch of this chutney and freeze it for later use in individual portion. This bold and earthy spread will surely sparkle the platter. If you want to use store bought ingredients, choose Harissa, Red pepper spread.

Arrange a big serving platter and few serving bowl. Fill the bowls with hummus, red pepper spread,  marinated artichokes and  olives. Drizzle some olive oil over hummus for extra authentic feel.
Artfully arrange all the veggies and pita bread pieces around the bowls. Replenish and serve as needed. You can mix and match the veggies  and pita pieces as a base. You can also layer and fill the pita pockets to make a fabulous sandwich.

  • 1 6 oz Harissa or Roasted Red Pepper -Walnut Dip
  • 1 10 oz Manzanilla Olives
  • 1 10 Oz Marinated Artichokes
  • Assortment of cut Veggies like cucumbers, carrots and radishes
  • 1 packet of pita bread, cut into triangles and warmed


  1. Arrange a big serving platter and few serving bowl. Fill the bowls with hummus, red pepper spread, marinated artichokes and olives. Drizzle some olive oil over hummus for extra authentic feel.
