    Our Favorite Air Fryer Recipes

I love using Air Fryer to make delicious fried food without using oil. It uses convection technology and hot air, which allows your recipes to come out crispy on the outside but moist on the inside!

My family loves Air Fryer recipes like Hasselback Sweet Potatoes, Homemade Granola and Crispy Fingerling Potatoes. Vegan Zucchini Fritters and Zucchini Fries as well as Fried Pickles and Sweet Corn Fritters are our reader's favorites.

    Easy Apple Dessert

I decided to use apple pie filling for my apple dessert recipes because I love the added spices in it! Since apple desserts go so well with cinnamon, this was a no-brainer choice. This apple pastry bites recipe is great after dinner or even as an afternoon snack when you have friends over.

You can make apple pie filling at home using electric pressure cooker like Instant Pot or on the stove top. It is super easy. It can be made in bulk and stored for later uses. No preservatives are needed. It tastes way better than canned version from the store.

Cook the apples with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and little dusting of flour. Spoon them over store brought puff pastry and bake or air fry for 10 minutes. Warm, delicious and satisfying dessert is all yours !

Making Apple Pie Filling In Instant Pot

You can make a big batch of apple pie filling in Instant Pot. It stores well and can be used for multiple dishes. Melt butter on SAUTE setting in Instant Pot. Add chopped apples, brown sugar, flour and cinnamon. Stir well. Add ¼ water. Cancel SAUTE , close the lid and cook on high for 1 minute followed by natural pressure release.

What other kinds of desserts can you make with puffed pastry?

You can fill the puffed pastry with anything you want, but one of the most popular options is chocolate. Instead of folding over sheets to make a fruit tart for example, simply cut them into squares and spoon in some melted chocolate or Nutella before folding it back up again. You could also try using ganache instead if you don't have chocolate on hand.

You could also use puffed pastry as a pie crust instead of regular flour dough if you wanted something lighter and crispier. Just pre-bake the shell for around 15 minutes to make sure it is nice and crispy before adding your filling.

Puffed pastry can be used for more than dessert.

Frequently asked questions about apple pie puff pastry

How long can apple pie puff pastry bites be stored?

Apple pie puff pastry bites are best enjoyed right after they have been prepared. If you would like to save them for later, it is recommended that they should not be kept longer than 24 hours in the refrigerator.

What temperature do apple pie puff pastry bites need to be cooked at?

When cooking them in the air fryer they should be cooked at 350 for 8-10 minutes. Do not rush and cook at high temperature as it will burn the edges of the pastry and it will not get crispy buttery layers. Make sure you rotate them halfway through.

An apple pie puff pastry served with a fork on the white dessert plate.

How many apple pies puff pastry bites can be made from one apple?

It depends on the size of your apple and how thinly you cut it. If the apple is medium to large size, then around 5-8 pieces will come out of it.

Can apple pie puff pastry bites be baked instead of air-fried?

Yes, apple pie puff pastries can also be baked. You'll need to pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and cook them for 10-15 minutes or until they become golden brown in color on top. Then remove from the oven serve promptly.
