Gulkand Pedha-Indian Sweet-Milk Fudge With Rose Petals

Pedha is a popular Indian sweet delicacy. Serving pedha s resonates with celebrating most special occasions.  Adding rose petal jam makes it extra exotic. Add a touch of glamor to your next celebration with these delicacies. They look and taste so exotic, you won’t believe so easy to make too.

These heavenly delicious and beautiful dessert comes together in time. Only 4 ingredients and 10 minutes of active cooking time is what makes it quick and easy recipe. You will be surprised how impressive and unique this recipe is once you serve it . No one will believe it’s home made and easy.

Though the recipe below is dairy based, you can make it vegan too. There are several dairy free / soy free vegan alternatives out there and you don’t have to skip the recipe altogether. . Let’s  make these utterly delicious pedhas together and celebrate the festival of light together.
Ingredients:
2 cups Milk Powder (Non fat dry)
1 can (14 oz) Condensed milk
1 stick (4 oz)Butter
2 Tablespoons Gulkand  ( Rose Petal Sugar jam)
Method:
*Take a big microwave safe bowl, add butter and melt it in the microwave for 1 minute.

* Now add  milk powder, condensed milk and cardamom powder. I have used non fat dry milk powder. Mix well to make sure there are no lumps.

* Microwave it for a  minute.

* After 1 minute, take it out and mix it well.

* Microwave it for 2 more minutes ,stirring in between.

* After microwaving for 3 minutes ,the mixture will be non sticky.

* Let it cool it for 5 minutes or until the mixture is able to handle.

* Add Gulkand ( you can get it in any ethnic or Indian Store).. Its a rose petal sugar jam

* Grease your hands with some melted butter.

* Divide the mixture into equal sized flattened balls . The pedhas should be smooth without any cracks.

* Using the fork, gently press the top to make stripe decorations.

* Garnish each with rose petal on the top !

* Cool the pedhas and enjoy !
