WHAT IS BALSAMIC GLAZE ?
I highly recommend you try making simple Balsamic glaze at home. It’s a simple technique of heating balsamic vinegar to thicker consistency.
It is also called a “balsamic reduction.” When you heat up balsamic vinegar, it reduces from watery texture to sauce type thick texture. It brings out immense flavor. You want it thickened to a chocolate syrup consistency.
It turns to very dark in color and has deep concentrated flavor. It thickens more as it cools down. Using a spoon you can drizzle it over the salad.
HOW TO MAKE BALSAMIC GLAZE AT HOME?
Pour 1 cup balsamic vinegar into a saucepan and add 1 Tbsp sugar
Bring to a low boil, then reduce heat to keep at a simmer for 12-15 minutes. Stir occasionally until reduced by half and lightly coats the back of a spoon. It will thicken more as it cools.
