Creamy Avocado Cilantro Lime Dressing is a superfood dressing packed with delightful flavors. This fresh and vibrant vegan sauce is super easy to make in less than 5 minutes.

Fresh cilantro, creamy avocado, tangy lime juice all blended together to make this velvety silky sauce. It tastes fantastic with zesty finish and a slight note of peppery heat. Like Cilantro Mint Chutney  and Cilantro Chimichurri, it is so fresh and full of flavors.

This recipe makes vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, paleo-friendly, keto, and heart-healthy Avocado Cilantro Lime salad dressing. And it also is Whole30!

    HEALTHY SALAD DRESSING

This delightful and savory sauce uses all natural ingredients. It is full of healthy fat, fiber and nutrients thanks to avocado and other wonderful ingredients.

Many creamy salad dressings are loaded in saturated fat and high in calories. It defeats the purpose of eating nutrients rich , healthy salad if you use those high calorie dressings with it.

This creamy salad however, is full of clean eating ingredients. It also is low calorie and no carb. You will enjoy the delightful salad with amazing taste.

Is It Sauce, Dressing or Dip?

This homemade avocado cilantro lime sauce is versatile in its use. You can use it as a sauce to serve along with the chips and fries. You can drizzle it as salad dressing. It is also useful as a savory dip.

I prefer not to heat the dressing or use it as a marinade. It tastes best when served at a room temperature or cold. Do not cook with it on heat.

A glass bottle and a cup full of green salad dressing made with avocado, cilantro and lime along with other ingredients.

    SUGGESTED USES

Avocado Dressing is creamy, rich yet healthy. Besides using it as a dressing for your favorite salad, put in on a sandwich or wraps, or enjoy it as a dip for fries, raw veggies or crostini.

Also useful as taco topper and grain bowl garnish ! These Vegetarian Burrito Bowls taste amazing with this sauce. I love it on Quesadillas or Enchiladas as well.

I love smoothies. Also in the guacamole. Kids love avocado toast for quick breakfast or snack. I even love to eat it as is or sprinkled with seasoning on the top.

One of my favorite recipes, Black Bean and Corn Salad uses this dressing. That salad is a super crowd pleaser. It is often requested at potlucks and picnics. This creamy and tangy salad dressing dazzles that salad.

Do you love avocados as much as I do ? If yes, then this is the Recipe for you !!

I often have a bag of avocado in rotation. One bag of ripe avocados in the refrigerator and one on the countertop that is still tough and raw.

That way, I have a continuous supply of avocados readily available. A heart healthy natural fat in avocados keeps you healthy and satiated.

Amazing dressing makes awesome crave worthy salads ! No more dreaded boring plain salad. This creamy vegan sauce brings any salad to happy life!

    BETTER THAN STORE BROUGHT

Instead of buying a premade Avocado Cilantro Dressing from the store we make it at home. No hard and fast rules. Just a few fresh ingredients, blend together and presto !

A spoon full of creamy salad dressing showing velvety silky texture.

    INGREDIENTS

Exact measurements are listed in the recipe card below. Here's what you need to make this Vegan Avocado Lime Cilantro dressing at home.

    • Ripe avocado
    • Cilantro ( leaves preferred)
    • Garlic - fresh preferred - optional
    • Lime juice
    • Jalapeño Pepper - skip it if you don't tolerate spicy heat
    • Cumin seeds
    • Olive oil
    • Salt and pepper
Ingredients used in making this creamy vegan all natural salad dressing.

    INSTRUCTIONS

Combine all ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth. You may have to scrape the sides a couple times.

If consistency is too thick, add more olive oil, or water a tablespoon at a time.

Taste for seasonings and adjust accordingly.

Transfer to a glass jar; close with a lid and keep refrigerated until ready to use.

    EASY SUBSTITUTES AND SUGGESTIONS

If you don’t like cilantro, you can use fresh parsley or basil. However only use ½ cup since both parsley and basil are stronger in taste.

I prefer to make and use this dressing fresh. It tastes best when fresh as well. If you plan to keep it for extended periods of time, add a teaspoon of vinegar. It works as a preservative.

Can I Omit the Oil ?

For WFPB cooking , you can omit the oil. Add water for smooth blending. Even though oil helps to emulsify the dressing smoothly, it will be still creamy because of healthy avocado fats.

Is this Creamy Avocado Lime Sauce vegan ?

Yes ! This sauce is vegan. It is also dairy free and soy free.

Is Avocado Cilantro Dressing suitable for a gluten free diet ?

Yes it is. All ingredients used are naturally gluten free.

This recipe was excellent! I switched it a bit (left out the cumin and hot pepper). I used avocado oil and basil, more lime, and fresh garlic just picked from my garden. I will definitely be making this again and sharing the recipe with friends.

I love that this recipe doesn't need yogurt or sour cream! I added twice the amount of lime juice, a tbsp of white vinegar, an extra 1/4 cup of water and 2 tbsp of olive oil, and its the perfect vinaigrette. Love this so much. I tried putting a little in the freezer so we will see how it turns out!

An amazing taste that compliments virtually EVERY salad. It is creamy, low in fat, and has such an amazing taste! I like to double it and use it for dipping fresh veggies if we get "peckish" during the evening. It is a good alternative to chips and fattening snacks.
