    Hot Milk Cake is soft, fluffy and super moist cake. All you need is basic ingredients to make this easy eggless cake.

    Friends, get set for ultimate cake baking experience ! Each bite of this cake is so velvety soft that it just melts in your mouth. The sweet buttery cake makes perfect serving starting from breakfast and snack and all the way to dessert. It’s simply irresistible I tell you.

    Super delicious and easy hot milk cake served with two coffee mugs for lovely evening snack.

    This humble looking, most classic cake is one of the best-tasting cakes. You can call it brother of classic Pound cake. This fail proof recipe is perfect starter cake recipe which you can dress up several different ways.

    One of my favorite baking recipes since childhood, this one is the GOLD. I am sure you gonna love it too !

    Recipe Inspiration

    My mom used to make this cake often. All 3 of us sister’s weren’t that fond of drinking milk while growing up. This was my mom’s trick to add milk in our diet.

    So this is comfort food cake recipe. It has vintage heirloom feel to it. It’s something grandma’s kitchen would feed – solid feel good food !! Undoubtedly, kids will love this cake. And for adults, it’s a trip down the memory lane while munching on bite after bite.

    Needless to say, this Classic Old Fashioned Cake Recipe has a special place in our recipe repertoire. This hard to resist piece of goodness is a must-share recipe.

    Simple everyday ingredients is all you need to make this fabulously delicious, warm and moist cake. You can bake it in baking dish, bundt cake pan or even bread loaf pan.

    Frosting and Serving ideas

    Using fresh fruit especially summer berries is always awesome. You can dress this cake up with some whipped cream and lots of fresh berries. Instant fancy gourmet cake is all yours.

    Dusting some powdered sugar is another easy way to add little more drama to the cake presentation. You can lightly glaze it with your favorite glaze. I love fresh lemon glaze for refreshing brightening taste.

    As with any cake recipe, liberally lathered coat of icing is always awesome.

    You can use this cake as a base for making delicious trifle and parfaits. You can use chocolate milk instead of regular milk to make Chocolate Hot Milk Cake. Adding lemon zest , pineapple chunks or dry fruits like apricots can add extra fresh element to the cake mix.

    For exotic flavors, use 1/4 teaspoon saffron or 1/4 teaspoon crushed cardamom , or 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder  or 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg powder in the batter.

    Ingredients for eggless hot milk cake

    Dry Ingredients : We use all purpose flour,  sugar, baking powder and baking soda

    Wet ingredients : This recipe uses butter, milk, yogurt and vanilla extract as wet ingredients.

    To make this recipe VEGAN, use plant based milk and yogurt and use oil instead of butter.

    If you prefer, you can use 1 egg instead of yogurt. 1/3 cup flaxseed powder can also be added.

    Step by Step Instructions

    As the name suggests, this cake uses hot (warm) milk in the making process. Here are steps involved to make this recipe .

    Heat milk and butter in saucepan till butter melts. Do not boil. Add vanilla essence. Turn the heat off and keep it aside.

    Meanwhile whisk yogurt and sugar together till it becomes creamy.

    Mix flour, baking powder and soda in different container.

    Add milk-butter mixture to whisked yogurt slowly. Whisk to combine properly.

    Add flour mixture to liquid mixture and combine well with big spoon or spatula. Do not overbeat the mixture.

    Line a loaf-pan or cake pan with parchment paper. Pour the mixture in the pan and tap 2- 3 times to remove air. Bake in preheated oven at 355°F for roughly 40 minutes.

    Bake until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs! Let it cool completely before slicing.

      Hi…I was trying my hand at baking for the first time and tried this recipe. It’s easy to follow and came out really good. I used one egg instead of the yogurt and added a pinch of cardamom powder. The aroma was heavenly. Thank you so much for this recipe!!
