Instant Pot Buttered Cabbage Recipe

Put the cabbage on the cutting board. Cut the base and remove the core. Then cut the cabbage in half and further into about 1.5" cubes. Add to the Instant Pot.
Add the butter, vegetable broth and seasoning ( if using). Sprinkle salt and ground black pepper. Using the spoon press down the cabbage some.
Close the lid and set the vent to SEALING. Select the PRESSURE COOK/MANUAL setting and set the cooking time for 4 minutes at high pressure. The Instant Pot will take around 10 minutes to come to pressure and start cooking.
After it's done cooking, quickly release the pressure and carefully remove the lid. Stir the cabbage to make sure that the butter and seasonings are evenly distributed. Adjust the seasoning, if needed. Serve warm. Enjoy !
If you want to make buttered cabbage on stove top
Heat 2 tablespoons butter in a heavy bottom pan or Dutch oven over medium-low heat until mostly melted. Add cabbage. Stir well. Add broth. mix well. Cover and cook until cabbage is tender, about 10 minutes. Uncover and stir cabbage to coat evenly with melted butter. Remove from heat and let stand, covered, about 3 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper. Serve and enjoy !
How to Store: Store any leftover buttered cabbage in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It should be consumed within 3-4 days for optimal freshness and flavor. Allow the buttered cabbage to cool completely before storing it in the refrigerator.
