Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans
  • 1 Tablespoon oil use sesame oil or olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Optional Asian Spicy Seasoning

  • ¼ cup tamari or soy sauce or liquid coconut amino
  • ¼ cup rice vinegar
  • teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 3-4 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Trim both ends off the green beans and peel off any strings off the sides. You can do this by using the scissors or snap them by hand.
  • In a bowl, whisk together sesame oil, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, tamari ( or soy sauce) and rice vinegar with salt and pepper. Add the trimmed green beans to a bowl. Use tongs to toss and coat the green beans entirely.
  • Place the coated green beans in the air fryer basket in a single layer. I use perforated parchment paper or silicon liners so the marinade doesn't drip off. Air fry to your desired doneness. Typically it takes 7-9 minutes to make crispy green beans at 375 degree Fahrenheit. Open the air fryer and shake the basket halfway through, for even air frying.
  • Serve warm with desired garnishes. Enjoy !

Pro Tips

  1. Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket. Arrange the beans in a single layer. Proper hot air circulation is important to make evenly roasted beans.
  2. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to make this recipe in two batches.
  3. These roasted green beans taste their best when freshly made. Since this recipe can be done in just 15 minutes, I highly recommend you make them fresh. If you need to store them, add them to an airtight container and store in the fridge. The green beans should be good for up to 3 days.
