Spicy Edamame

Spicy Edamame is an easy, quick 10-minute, 6-ingredient recipe. Made with a wonderful chili paste and garlic sauce to coat the steamed edamame, these chili garlic edamame are perfect for snack, appetizer or side dish.

  • 1 (14 oz) bag of Frozen Edamame in shells

  • In a small fry pan on medium low heat add the sesame oil. Once oil heats up, add minced garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until a golden brown, do not burn. Remove pan from heat and cool.
  • In a medium bowl mix together the sautéed garlic and chili sauce.
  • Steam edamame in a microwave safe bowl for 3 minutes. Add the warmed edamame to the garlic chili sauce and toss to coat. The sauce clings to the pods, infusing them with that irresistible taste.
  • Season with sesame seeds and sea salt. Serve warm.

Notes

Spicy edamame can be prepped ahead of time. Simply cook the edamame and toss them in the sauce, then refrigerate. When you're ready to serve, you can either reheat them on the stovetop or in the microwave.
To adjust the spice level : If you're looking for a milder taste, simply reduce the amount of sriracha sauce. On the other hand, if you're a heat enthusiast, feel free to add a bit more until it suits your taste buds.
