Instructions
Cut and Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and scrub the potatoes. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
Carefully slice each potato ⅛-inch or smaller slits (or slices) along the tops, stopping ½-inch from the bottom (1 centimeter). Be careful not to apply too much pressure or you may cut straight through.
Prepare the basting oil mixture by whisking together oil or butter, minced garlic, salt, pepper and chili flakes.
Brush with half of the mixture over the cut potatoes. Keep half of the mixture.
How to make Air Fryer Hasselback Potatoes
Place potatoes on an air fryer rack or basket in a single layer, making sure to leave some space between them and not stacking them.
Cook at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 18-20 minutes (depending on the size of your potatoes), brushing with oil + butter mixture halfway through the cooking time. Make sure to coat the inside of the potatoes as well, carefully.
Once the potatoes are fork-tender, remove them from the air-fryer. Make sure to season it well after the taste test. Serve warm with desired garnishes. Enjoy.
How to bake Hasselback Potatoes in the oven?
Place potatoes in a single layer, cut side up, onto the prepared baking sheet, and bake for 45-55 minutes at 375 degree Fahrenheit pre heated oven.
IF USING INSTANT POT AIR FRYER LID OR CRISP LID
Arrange cut and prepared potatoes in a single layer on the basket. Place the basket on the trivet. Cover and secure the Instant Pot with an air fryer lid. ( or crisp lid)
Air fry at 375 Fahrenheit ( 190 Celsius) for 18-20 minutes until the potatoes look wrinkled and start turning golden brown.
Notes
Your leftover Hasselback potatoes can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Just cover them up with foil or store them in an airtight container. Then, when you want to have them, just reheat them in the oven for 5-7 minutes.
