Baked Brie with Cranberry Sauce

Baked brie cheese with cranberry sauce is a crowd pleasing party appetizer. This vegetarian cheese appetizer is gluten free.  You will love this easy recipe that makes a show stopper, elegant and festive appetizer !

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. round Brie Cheese wheel
  • ½ cup prepared cranberry sauce homemade or store-bought
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme for garnishing

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. Line a baking sheet pan with parchment paper.
  • Remove the brie wheel from it’s wrapping and place onto the middle of the parchment paper.
  • Top the cheese wheel with the cranberry sauce. Add chopped fresh herbs if desired.
  • Bake at 350 F for 10-12 minutes, until the brie is soft and melty. You should feel liquid at the center for it to flow and spread smoothly.
  • Remove from the oven. Spread the cranberry sauce evenly on the top. Garnish with fresh rosemary sprig or other herbs on top and serve immediately,
  • Serve it with toasted baguette slices, crackers, sliced apples or pears and nuts.

HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE CRANBERRY SAUCE IN INSTANT POT

Combine 2 cups of fresh cranberries, 1 cup of raw sugar, 1 inch shredded ginger root and ½ cup orange juice into a 6-qt Instant Pot. Select MANUAL setting to high for 4 minutes. When finished cooking, let it release pressure naturally. Using a wooden spoon, mash the cooked cranberry mixture until most cranberries are popped and mashed.

HOW TO MAKE CRANBERRY SAUCE ON STOVE TOP

Combine 2 cups of fresh cranberries, 1 cup of raw sugar, 1 inch shredded ginger root and ½ cup orange juice. Heat it in saucepan on medium heat until cranberries start to pop about 15 minutes. Mash it well so it makes a thick sauce.

HOW TO MAKE BAKED BRIE IN PUFF PASTRY

Before baking, you can wrap the brie cheese wheel in the puff pastry sheet. Make a pocket and cover it all around. Bake for 15 minutes at 350° F. The crispy flaky pastry and warm melty cheese makes an irresistible combination.
