Classic Stuffed Mushrooms

Incredibly delicious stuffed mushrooms, made with a flavorful mixture of sauted onions, garlic and Italian Seasoning and dash of super spicy habnero!

  • 1 pound white button mushrooms -about 18 count stems removed
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic minced
  • 2 teaspoons Italian Seasoning
  • 1/2 cup Italian Cheese blend
  • Salt and pepper taste
  • Habanero Sauce few drops for extra spicy kick optional


  1. Prepare the mushrooms by washing, drying and removing their stems. Finely chop all the stems to pieces.
  2. Heat a pan over medium heat. Add 1 tbsp. evoo- extra virgin olive oil. Once heated, add onions and sauté for few minutes till translucent. Add minced garlic and Italian Seasoning. Sauté couple more minutes. You should sense the aroma.
  3. Add the chopped mushroom stems and sauté for 3-4 minutes. The mixture should get softer. Add salt and pepper and mux well. Turn off the heat. Your yummy stuffing is ready.
  4. Preheat oven to 400 °F. Stuff the mushrooms with the stuffing. Arrange them on parchment paper on baking tray or dish. Sprinkle cheese on top of each mushroom. Drizzle the oil. Pop the tray in the oven on the middle rack. Let them bake for about 15 minutes. The cheese should be golden brown on top.
  5. Turn off the oven and remove the tray. Let the mushrooms cool off for 5 minutes. Serve warm. Cheers to many more happy times!!
