Notes

How to Make Yogurt in Instant Pot

  1. Pour milk into the inner pot of Instant Pot. Push the YOGURT button until the screen reads BOIL.
  2. Once the boil cycle is complete, remove the lid. Carefully remove the inner pot.
  3. Allow the milk to cool to 115 degrees. Takes about 45 minutes.
  4. Whisk in the yogurt culture in lukewarm milk boiled earlier.
  5. Place the inner pot in. Put the lid on and press YOGURT button and adjust until the screen reads 8:00 hours.
  6. Once the YOGURT function finishes, remove the container from the inner pot and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 2 hours before using.
Important Tips:
  1. Use Rimmed Baking Tray - Make sure to use a rimmed baking tray that fits the freezer. Yogurt will spread until it's frozen. We don’t want a yogurt mess in your freezer.
  2. Line your baking sheet - To remove the frozen bark easily from the rimmed tray, line it with wax paper or parchment paper. Otherwise, yogurt will stick to the tray while freezing and will be really hard to remove.
  3. Allow time for the bark to set - Yogurt bark will take around 3 hours to fully set in the freezer. I often make it the night before. So it's ready to enjoy the next day.
  4. Eat Quickly - Frozen bark does melt fairly quickly upon taking out of the freezer, so you’ll want to eat it as soon as it comes out. Don't thaw it.
