- 1 14 ounce package extra-firm tofu, drained, pressed, and cut into pieces
- 3 Tablespoons coconut amino or tamari or soy sauce
- 2 Tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 Tablespoon Maple Syrup
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
Whisk together coconut amino, rice vinegar, maple syrup and liquid smoke together in a small bowl or cup.
Place the tofu slices in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them.
Marinate the tofu for at least 30 minutes at room temperature, or covered and chilled for up to 24 hours.
How To Make Smoked Tofu in Oven
Preheat the oven to 350° Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the marinated tofu slices on the baking sheet in a single layer.
Bake the tofu for about 30 minutes, carefully turning the pieces halfway through.
Remove the tofu from the oven and serve.
How To Make Smoked Tofu in Air Fryer
Arrange the marinated tofu slices on the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Air Fry at 350° Fahrenheit for 15 minutes carefully turning the pieces halfway through.
Remove the tofu from the air fryer and serve.
How To Make Smoky Tofu on the skillet
On a medium high heat, warm up 1 Tablespoon cooking oil in the skillet. Arrange marinated tofu slices on the skillet.
Let them cook for 5 minutes on medium heat. Check for golden brown bottoms. Flip them upside down and let them cook further for 5 more minutes.
Tofu is done when firm and golden brown on both side and looks caramelized. Serve and Enjoy !
